Methamphetamine detox in Ontario

Because of the severe detox symptoms of a frequent meth abuser, it's suggested that the withdrawal  be performed in a very controlled and safe environment.

methamphetamine

Here are some of the withdrawal symptoms that usually occur during the detox:

  •   Cannot sleep, restless, will keep still
  •   Exhaustion (however cannot sleep)
  •   Mental fog, cognitive impairment
  •   Anxiety and panic attacks,  paranoia (can be extreme)
  •   Craving the drug
  •   Psychosis
  •   Extreme hunger
  •   Severe depression

When a meth user stops using meth and is in a medically monitored withdrawal,  sedatives will be given to help them get through the extreme agitation and insomnia and will lower the chance of heart attack or self inflicted injury. Ontario Meth detox and rehab programs apply this only if the addict has been using meth on a frequent basis.

The way it kills brain cells, some of the injuries from meth dosages are not perpetually repairable. This is why it's urgent for people around meth addicts to stage an intervention as soon as possible.

Detox should be followed by a long term methamphetamine program to permit the body to attempt and heal from the injury that has been done.  This would possibly take 60 to 90 days or longer. We can help you with drug rehabilitation in Ontario if you are looking for drug rehabilitation, meth treatment or a meth detox center. Ontario Addiction Helpline is here to help you find an Ontario drug rehabilitation facility.
